LAURELWOOD HISTORY

Foundation

In 1991, co-founders Larry Bannier and Dick Conger needed more land for their growing host of exotic and prize-winning animals.

After a handshake deal, for a remote and almost inaccessible piece of virgin land, the two ventured to the back of Signal Mountain, Tenneessee, where our story begins.

Weddings

In the early 2000’s, Laurelwood became a globally sought out destination for unique and beautiful weddings. These events were held in the grand barn, which previously was home to four camels.

Llamas

Throughout the late 80’s and 90’s, our co-founder, Larry Bannier, was nationally known for his prize-winning llamas. Over the years he grew his successful llama breeding business and hosted weekend llama treks with adventurers on the Laurelwood property.
